About Me Hello and thank you for your interest in getting to know me. As you can see my name is Robert W. Flammia. I have been a resident of Sanborn, NY for just over 10 years. I moved to Sanborn with my daughter when I met the beautiful young lady you see in the picture with me. I grew up east of Rochester in a small town called Shortsville, NY. In 1992, I graduated from Red Jacket Highschool.
In 1996, I was hired by Conrail as a railroad conductor on the Albany Division. I was promoted to locomotive engineer in 1998 and operated Freight trains between Albany, NY and Boston, Mass. In 2002, I was elected to Assistant Local Chairman of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers Division 421, Buffalo, NY. I served the BLET and its members under the guidance of Jim Louis. I assisted with hearings and negotiations between the BLET and Conrail/CSX Transportation. In December 2007, I was injured when the seat of a locomotive broke, fracturing three levels of my spine. CSX offered to pay for my education. I decided to get a degree in the legal profession. I have recently received my Masters of Science in Legal Studies and have recently decided to pursue my Juris Doctorate to practice law. My love of politics and debate has always been a part of me. I am a lifelong Democrat. After meeting my fiancee, Diane, I found much enjoyment discussing Wheatfield politics with her mother Marlene Pytlik. Marlene was an amazing woman who I will honestly say inspired me to go further in politics. I have been endorsed as a Democratic candidate by the Niagara County Democrats and the Wheatfield Democratic Committee. |
